Hermie!

Is a land hermit crab, that is.

Since taking this photo, this particular hermie has changed his shell, twice. First he moved into one of our painted shells, it was decorated like a football. We moved his old shell out of the tank and put in some other new ones (in case he changed his mind.)

But I started to notice that every morning all of the shells had been moved around, most had been left upside down. So one of the hermies was looking for a new home. I put the old shell back into the tank and the very next day hermie was back in his old shell. Aaaah. Poor puppy, he just wanted to try the new shell for a bit, then move back.
